The Chester County Democracy Caucus (2CDC, founded in 2004 as the Chester County Democratic Coalition and renamed in 2006) is a grassroots organization seeking to promote the values of a virtuous democracy, including justice, integrity, compassion, and transparency in politics and policy at all levels of local and national government.
2CDC members believe that the central ethos of democracy and concern for community welfare are noble values beneficial to all. We believe that open discussion of thought-provoking issues in a public forum supports an informed electorate and healthy democracy.
We welcome all who agree with our mission and who will work to advance our agenda.
PLAN OF ACTION
1) We are committed to conducting a permanent campaign in support of democratic values;
2) We sponsor public forums dedicated to political education, presenting issues of concern to the electorate through talks by knowledgeable speakers, discussion by attendees, or panels of informed participants.
3) We participate actively in political discourse in Chester County by means of our forums, letter-writing, and the 2CDC web site in order to promote a progressive agenda;
4) We encourage our members to support progressive candidates at all levels of government
5) We maintain liaison with compatible national and local groups;
6) We work in cooperation with other like-minded groups such as the Chester County Peace Movement.
