Writer ignored the facts on wind power

Some striking similarities between a letter on Dec. 13 and the posting at www.wind-watch.org/news/2008/09/09/wind-power-irregular-expensive-to-transmit/, suggest a coordinated letter writing campaign by those opposed to wind power.
No reference is cited for the claim that Denmark is foregoing further expansion of wind power generation. The Danish Wind Industry Association 2008 Annual Report shows no evidence of a moratorium.
There are electrical grid issues for variable sources such as wind.
However, the writer ignores potential options such as: (1) an electric vehicle fleet whose batteries, when connected to the grid, could provide mitigation and (2) pumped storage, which TVA has implemented at the Raccoon Mountain Pumped-Storage Plant. Read the rest of this entry »
