Gardner takes on Ferris

Kevin Ferris delivers an obviously heartfelt defense of John McCain’s “Maverick” political positions. What makes them deserving of the title “Maverick” is that they’re not obviously pandering positions, designed to “go along to get along.”
John McCain declares “the country must first secure its borders,” but back in March, 2006, argued that the US needed a “…temporary worker program that permits workers from other countries — to the extent they are needed — to fill jobs that would otherwise go unfilled.”
In November 2007, McCain explained his shift this way: “I understand why you would call it a, quote, shift. … I say it is a lesson learned about what the American people’s priorities are. And their priority is to secure the borders.”
