Day #9 (of our fall ‘09 campaign to get HB 1660 and SB 400 signed into law, 11.19.09)

Friends of Common Sense Single Payer Solution:

It’s really not so difficult to figure out and reform. But…left to the corporate, media, and political elite…we’ll be drowning in hemorrhaged healthcare for the for at least another generation. We citizens cannot, and will not, allow that to happen.

So act now. Learn, lobby, letter-write, petition, donate ($9, $90, $900 or more). Find out how at: www.healthcare4allpa.org

Clear the smoke and show us the mirrors — citizens are leading the way to the only proven policy response to our dysfunctional
healthcare “system”: the Single Payer Solution.

Imagine…every individual and business pays their ‘fair share health and wellness tax’ and everybody receives quality, comprehensive, healthcare; 85% of individuals and businesses pay less and receive far more; premiums, co-pays, deductibles, and caps disappear; no one goes bankrupt because of outrageous medical bills; the middle man (profit-first insurance company) vanishes from basic healthcare funding; administrative costs drop by 84%; hospitals remain open; doctors and nurses stay to provide healthcare; PA-trained medical students settle in the Keystone State; patient-provider relations and patient choice are enhanced; prescription drug costs are halved; medical errors fall; 140,000 high-paying jobs are created; the 65,000 displaced insurance workers receive a two-year golden parachute and $20K in retraining support; current businesses flourish and new ones relocate to PA; municipal, county, and state governments balance their books; (anticipate) property taxes decline; (anticipate) auto insurance premiums fall; (anticipate) workers comp is cut in half; (anticipate) med-mal insurance is reduced dramatically.

And Pennsylvania serves as the model for the national Single Payer Solution. State-based modeling is, of course, how industrialization (pre- and post-Civil War), voting rights, workplace safety, wage hikes, collective bargaining, education reforms, civil rights, consumer protections, Social Security, veterans benefits, industry regulations — virtually every meaningful reform in American history — took root and expanded nationally.

So act now. Learn, lobby, letter-write, petition, donate ($9, $90, $900 or more). Find out how at: www.healthcare4allpa.org.

Yours in reason,

Chuck Pennacchio, Ph.D.
Executive Director
